The Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) provides an opportunity to women professional golfers that is unmatched, the opportunity to advance their playing careers by earning exemptions into the LPGA’s Symetra Tour events.  Sarah White is a living example of how quickly a dream can become reality by seizing the opportunity the WAPT provides its members.

“I’ve always known I wanted to play professional golf and I knew I had to play some mini tours. I looked into the Cactus Tour and the Eggland’s Best Tour in Florida, but when the WAPT came into play I heard a lot of good things about how it’s run,” White said.  “I believe I was influenced by the connections WAPT has and it’s affiliation LPGA’s Symetra Tour.”

Now in the second year of a partnership LPGA’s Symetra Tour, known as the “Road to LPGA,” the WAPT is known as the ‘Official Qualifying Tour’ for the Symetra Tour.  Through the partnership each WAPT tournament winner receives an exemption into a corresponding Symetra Tour tournament.  In some cases, like with Sarah White, the exemption is passed down to the next available player.

White earned her exemption into the Symetra Tour’s Founders Tribute at Longbow Golf Club in Meza, AZ after her 5th place finish at the WAPT’s Texarkana Children’s Charities Open back in mid July.  White carded 20 birdies, the most in the event, and finished with rounds of 71/70/69/72 for 4-under par.

“I’ve said it before, but I believe the WAPT is the best women’s mini tour. It is run just like the Symetra, the competition level, and the atmosphere really helps develop players to get to the next level.” White told us.  “I came into the Symetra event with a lot of confidence after playing against Kristen Gillman, Binny Lee, and top amateurs.”

White put on display that she was more than ready when her opportunity came.  At the LPGA’s Symetra Tour’s Founders Tribute White shot 65/68/65 for 15-under par, including a final-hole birdie, to edge out Sophia Popov by one stroke.  Popov went on to win the AIG Women’s British Open by a landslide this past week, further cementing White’s amazing feat.  “I’ve always dreamed about being a pro golfer. Winning the Symetra event and gaining status has jump-started my career and making that final putt was the ‘I made it’ moment.”

… and just like that my dreams came true. My first PRO victory turned into going to next weeks symetra event and classification”B” status on symetra which means I am a full member. Going into this event I had no status, wasn’t sure when I was going to Q-school, and was invited from my performance through one of the best mini- tour golf organizations @womensallprotour. A 5 foot putt changed my life forever. I was -15 (68-65-68) for a three day total. I am truly humbled and proud to give all the glory to God. I have prayed over this journey, over my round yesterday, the whole week, and so much more. Truly would not of won without his grace. To my caddy/ big brother/ mentor: @bwhitey08 I could not be more thankful to have you on the bag this week keeping me in it, and helping me these last few days. To the rest of my family .. my mom @pattywhite2317 and dad, my sister @laurmae11 , my brother in law, Natalie @natalieegervais , and baby jojo: your endless support would not have gotten me here today. To my past and current coaches thank you for preparing me for this opportunity. My two bosses and @mach3speedtraining thank you for giving me the platform and support to chase my dreams. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, followed me, supported me, prayed over me- I am truly so blessed to be standing here holding this trophy…. here’s to the first of many victories and to making my dreams come true. #progolf #victory #progolfer #road2lpga #winnerwinnerchickendinner

White was able to capture the victory with a familiar face on the bag.  Brett White, her brother, was a top 50 player on the All Pro Tour (APT) from 2018-2019.  “My brother is someone I look up to and he’s helped me so much throughout the years,” White said.  “He knows my game inside and out and I couldn’t have done it without him.  This will truly be an amazing memory we will both never forget.”

After winning in her Symetra Tour debut, White is now the newest ‘Road to LPGA’ member as a 2020 rookie.  “This game is crazy, anybody at the top level can beat anyone on any given day,” she said.  “I believe anything is possible and I hope more girls from the WAPT follow in my footsteps.”

Who will be next to join her?
