(Dallas, TX) – The Women’s All Pro Tour announced today that Delta Downs will be the presenting sponsor for the Delta Downs Invitational to be held in Lake Charles, LA. The inaugural tournament will take place at The National Golf Club of Louisiana from September 21st-23rd.

The field of up to 84 players will be accompanied by a $35,000 purse with first place taking home a minimum of $5,000. The 54-hole tournament will not include a cut, but it will include a pro-am earlier in the week to help Autism Services in Southwest Louisiana.

“We are so excited about this opportunity that has been afforded to us in partnering with WAPT and Delta Downs.  This Pro-Am tournament, along with the generosity of good hearted sponsors are going to completely change lives.” Explains Aaron Oretgo, CEO of Autism Services of Southwest Louisiana, “The Autism Services of Southwest Louisiana was organized to provide housing and 24 hour direct care to adults that are on the Autism Spectrum.  We provide direct care with qualified staff and have homes that are customized to suit every need of our clients.  We provide private living, with opportunities for our clients to live a high quality life with individualized appropriate amounts of socialization and activity.  We expect a tremendous event in year one of the Pro-Am tournament and look forward to the future success that an annual event will yield.”

This is the first year of the Delta Downs Invitational and Delta Downs is looking to help the women of the WAPT achieve their dreams of playing golf at the highest level. Being one of the few fall events on the WAPT schedule, Delta Downs is giving the players the opportunity to prepare themselves for LPGA Q-School Stage II in October.

“We are excited to have Delta Downs come aboard as our presenting sponsor.” Says WAPT President Gary DeSerrano, “It shows their support of women’s sports and the communities they serve. Their involvement ensures that the tournament will be successful for the future stars of the LPGA and for the Autism Services of SW Louisiana.”

First, Second, and Third rounds will get underway around 8:00 AM CT off No. 1 and No. 10 tees. The trophy ceremony will take place after the final round of play on Thursday at The National Golf Club of Louisiana.
