(Anna, TX) – The Women’s All Pro Tour continues their fourth series in the PXG Race to Stage II in Anna, TX for the Oscar Williams Classic. Hurricane Creek Country Club has welcomed the WAPT in the past with this being the fourth annual Oscar Williams Classic. Last year’s champion, Grace Kim, now has full Epson Tour status and will not be in Anna to defend her title.

PXG RACE TO STAGE II STANDINGS GOING INTO WEEK TEN
After the first nine tournaments of the 2022 Women’s All Pro Tour season, the PXG Race to Stage II the top-3 sees a new name enter the mix.
Miranda Wang (Pebble Beach, CA) has moved into the first spot with her second place finish at the WLN Central Arkansas Open followed by a top-5 finish at the Bella Vista Charity Classic. Kathleen Scavo (Benicia, CA) moved down to the number 3 spot after not playing for the last several weeks. Rounding out the top-3 is Erika Smith who won last week at the Merit Health Natchez Classic, moving her to number 2 on the points list. The Oscar Williams Classic will feature 9 of the top-10 girls in the PXG Race To Stage II points list. Erika Smith (Orlando, FL) moved from outside the top-5 and into the number 2 spot after her win last week at the Merit Health Natchez Classic. Smith has had a solid season before the win and will look to be the first back to back champion this year on the WAPT. Two hometown players are in the field for the Oscar Williams Classic as well. Julie Houston (Allen, TX) and Jordy Labarbera (Allen, TX) call Hurricane Creek Country Club home in their off weeks. Houston is the highest finisher from last season who is returning in 2022. Both Houston and LaBarbera are having strong seasons, with both of them currently in the Top-10 in points. They will be looking to draw from past experience and knowledge of the course to help secure their first victory on the WAPT.
Action gets underway at 7:30 A.M. CT the first two days of play. A cut will be made after 36-holes to the top 40% of the starting field, including ties. Amateurs are included in the cut number. The field will be repaired before the final two rounds based on score and players will go off in reverse horseshoe with leaders teeing off last. A trophy presentation by the clubhouse will follow the final round of play. Attendance is free to the public.
