Carry Will Sponsor the 2023 Player of the Year Award
The Women’s All Pro Tour, the official qualifying tour for the LPGA’s Epson Tour, will have a new sponsor in 2023 for the Player of the Year. The player who earns the most points in the 2023 PXG Race To Stage II will become the Carry Player of the Year. Miranda Wand (Duke University graduate, pictured) won the WAPT’s Player of the Year in 2022.
“In our few short years of operation, the WAPT has been fortunate to attract amazing partners with like-minded goals of providing support and opportunities for our aspiring tour professionals,” said WAPT president Gary DeSerrano. “Carry exemplifies exactly what the WAPT stands for and we could not ask for a more fitting partner for our Player of the Year Award. We appreciate Donnie’s vision and look forward to crowning our inaugural Carry Player of the Year next August!”
The Carry Player of the Year will earn an $10,000 bonus in addition to their exemption into Stage II of the LPGA Qualifying School.
Carry was founded to help golfers in the early stages of their career who may not have the finances to compete in all the events needed to move them into the next level of professional golf. In addition to career funding, Carry facilitates unique golf experiences designed to bring the company’s investors and athletes closer together. The company already supports three players chasing their dreams on the WAPT and with Carry continuing to grow, the number of athletes that will benefit from Carry will continue to grow with them.
“Agreeing to sponsor the WAPT’s Player of the Year program was a no-brainer. Given the high quality of players who compete on the WAPT, the tour’s affiliation with the LPGA’s Epson Tour, and its partnerships with leading golf brands like PXG, I was flattered Gary and Kathy thought of Carry for this opportunity,” explains Carry CEO and Founder, Donnie Dotson. “We’re thrilled to be a new partner in support of the tour and its members’ careers, and we look forward to an exciting season in 2023!”
