Epson Tour Partnership
The Ladies Professional Golf Association’s Epson Tour and the Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) established a partnership in 2019 that continues into the 2023 season.
Just as the Epson Tour serves as the ‘Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA Tour’, the WAPT is the ‘Official Qualifying Tour’ for the Epson Tour. Each WAPT tournament will award the top two finishers exemptions into selected Epson Tour events. At the conclusion of each season, the top five players on the PXG Race To Stage II program will each receive exemptions into Stage II of LPGA Q-School.
The success story of the Epson Tour-WAPT was partnership can be highlighted in the success of its graduates, Gabby Then (22 Epson Tour Winner), Grace Kim (22 Epson Tour Winner), Britney Yada (22 Epson Tour Winner), Emma Broze (21 Epson Tour Winner) and Sarah White (20 Epson Tour Winner).
“It was a great opportunity to show the other girls competing on the WAPT that it is possible to make it”, White said. “The WAPT truly prepared me for this opportunity.”
“We are excited to provide a clear path for those ladies dreaming of playing the Epson and LPGA Tours”, said WAPT President Gary DeSerrano. “The WAPT not only provides more playing opportunities but a true path to the Epson and LPGA Tours.”
Epson Tour Exemptions Per WAPT Event
The top (2) two finishers of each WAPT event will earn exemptions into specific Epson Tour events. The designated Epson Tour tournament exemptions will be announced in early February and will be posted on each WAPT tournament information page.
Exemptions are not be passed down should a WAPT exemption winner already be in the Epson Tour field. Additionally, all exemptions are designated to a specific Epson event and are not transferable.
Eligibility: All players competing in a WAPT event are eligible to earn these exemptions. WAPT Tour Membership is NOT required.
Epson Tour Exemption Tie-Breakers
Should two players be tied for the second exemption spot, the following Tie-Breaker will determine the winner:
- Accumulated Points for the WAPT Season
- Lowest Final Round at the current event
- Year-to-date scoring average
- Scorecards Playoff – starting with the most recent round and working backward (#18, # 17, #16, etc)
