Who is eligible to play in an WAPT event?

The WAPT is open to professionals who are 16 years of age or older and amateurs with a USGA handicap of 2.0 or less and are 14 years of age or older. Foreign players are required to be internationally recognized in order to play on the WAPT.

If I am a member of the Symetra or LPGA, do I get a discount on my Membership?

Yes. 2020 members of the Symetra Tour or LPGA Tour may join the WAPT for $225 per year.

How do I Earn One of the Symetra Tour Exemptions?

Winners of each WAPT tournament will earn an exemption into a future Symetra Tour event. Should the winner already be eligible for the said Symetra Tour event, the exemption will be passed to the next eligible player. To see which Symetra Tour events the tournament exemptions are for, see ‘Symetra Exemptions’ on the WAPT Homepage.

Do I have to pay for a practice round and range balls?

Practice rounds are FREE to all players that want to walk.  A fee will apply to those players that want to rent a golf cart – fee usually around $15-25. Callaway Chrome Soft range balls are free all week.

Are there cuts and how many players make the CUT?

New in 2020: Yes just similar to the LPGA Qualifying School, the WAPT does cut the field after 54-holes. The top 40% of the starting field and ties after 54 holes will make the CUT. All pros making the cut will earn a check. 

Are yardage books available at each site?

Yes. A limited number of books are available each week. They are sold in the WAPT trailer on Monday and Tuesday. Books are $20.

Will private housing be available?

Private housing will be available at most events, but is not guaranteed.  Private housing is for members only and is only be available to players registered for an event.  Information regarding private housing can be found on each tournament’s info page under Private Housing.

How will I receive my earnings from a tournament?

Unless you are a Foreign Player, ALL earnings are distributed by Direct Deposit 5 days after the final round.  Checks will only be mailed to Foreign players without US Tax ID numbers. 

If I qualify or gain entry into a Symetra or LPGA Tour event will my entry fee be refunded?

Yes.  Please contact our office at 817-567-3654 as soon as you find out you are eligible for the LPGA/Symetra Tour event.  There is no fee to transfer the entry to another event, but if you request a refund, there is a $50 cancellation fee. Please note, no refunds or tranfers will be given once a player has teed off at in a WAPT event.

Where do I get my member packet?
All members will receive their member packets at their first event played.
When are tee times posted?

The 1st & 2nd round tee times will be posted 36 hours prior to the start of each event.  Pairings will be posted at the Tour trailer, texted to players,  available online at www.wapt.golf at each tournament’s information page and on the Tour’s app.

How do I withdraw from a tournament?

Withdrawals will be accepted for any reason when notice is given by 5:00 PM on the Friday before the tournament week.  Players can transfer their entry fee to a future tournament at no additional cost, or get a refund back to their credit card.  There will be a $50 administrative fee for all refunds.  Players MUST call the tour office at 817-567-3654 to withdraw.

For withdraws after this Friday deadline, the player will forfeit her   entry fee to this tournament.  Medical and personal withdraws after this Friday deadline will be evaluated case-by-case, and if accepted, there will be a $50 administrative fee.

No refund or credit will be offered once a player has teed off during tournament play.  No Shows will NOT receive a refund or credit.

What is the proper attire while playing in an event?

Proper golf attire is required. The LPGA dress code will apply at each event. 

Are range finders allowed during tournament play?

The use of distance-measuring devices will be permitted in all WAPT events.  The devices with slope, must be able to turn off this feature to be eligible.

Are golf carts allowed?

No.  Unless otherwise stated, all WAPT events will be walking.  Carts will be allowed during practice rounds and pro-ams.

Are pull / push carts allowed?

Yes. And caddies are allowed to use push carts. However, electric and motorized carts are not allowed.

Am I required to have a caddy?

No, you are allowed to carry your own bag.  If you bring a caddy, they must wear Caddy Bibs during tournament play. Bibs are supplied at the starting tee. And caddies ARE allowed to use push carts.

Is there a host hotel provided at each event?
Yes, there will be a host hotel for each event that will provide a discounted rate to tournament players.  Information regarding the host hotel can be found on each tournament’s info page.
Are there any member benefits regarding equipment and apparel?

Absolutely! The WAPT will provide a list of Preferred Partners that offer members significant discounts on their products.  Once you have joined, you will recieve a Member Discount Program from each Tour Partner. For more information, See Manufacturer Programs.
