Northern Texas PGA and ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour Announce Partnership in Conjunction with the Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open
Two Epson Tour Exemptions to be Awarded to Top Finishers
FRISCO, Texas (November 20) – The Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) completed a two-year strategic partnership agreement with the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) in support of the 2025 and 2026 Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open.
The agreement outlines that the Destination Grapevine Texas Women's Open will be an official event on the ANNIKA WAPT schedule during the 2025 and 2026 seasons. This special partnership allows for two Epson Tour tournament exemptions to be granted to the top two finishers at the Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open each year of the agreement. The specific Epson Tour events to which the exemptions will be granted will be named later.
“We are thrilled to announce this partnership and special collaboration between the Northern Texas PGA and the ANNIKA WAPT,” said NTPGA CEO Mark Harrison. “The Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open is a prestigious event, and this addition will only mean more opportunities to continue to promote and spotlight women’s golf in our region. The field will not only be gunning for the hefty first-place prize money but for those exemptions, too. It adds a great incentive to come play down in Texas late next May, and we anticipate an extremely competitive field.”
The 2025 Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open will take place at Grapevine Golf Course from Wednesday, May 28 through Friday, May 30. A pro-am is set to be held on Tuesday, May 27 for partners and select guests.
The partnership also outlines the creation of a $2,500 college scholarship to be given to a junior female golfer each year of the agreement. The Northern Texas PGA Foundation, with the help of many partners and patrons, annually promotes a scholarship application to local junior golfers and annually selects nearly 90 high school seniors to receive a college scholarship. This scholarship will join those ranks.
“We have always had a great relationship with the Northern Texas Section,” said Gary Deserrano, co-founder and managing partner of the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour. “To be able to come to terms on this great collaborative partnership for women’s golf is truly special. Many of our members enjoy playing this event each year, and now there will be more reasons for them to compete.”
The top five women on the ANNIKA WAPT’s Callaway Race to Q2 points list as of May 12, 2025, will have their entry fees waived into the Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open, and the top 50 ANNIKA WAPT players on the same points list will receive priority entry.
ANNIKA WAPT members who compete in the Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open will earn points toward the Callaway Race to Q2 based on their finish in the tournament. All players' earnings will be official on the 2025 ANNIKA WAPT Official Money List based on their finish in the Championship.
Registration for the 2025 Championship will open next year. For more information about the Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open, visit www.ntpga.com/texas-womens-open
