Victory for Victoria - FCA Women’s Championship

(Broken Arrow, OK) – The final round of the FCA Women’s Championship, held at The Golf Club at Indian Springs, has wrapped up and a new name on tour walked away with the hardware. Victoria Gailey (Tigard, OR) was crowned the FCA Women’s Championship winner, in her first professional season.

Despite being four back from the leader heading into the final round, the Oregon native put her game in full gear as she carded a 6-under 66 to take the title. With two birdies and a bogey on the front nine, Gailey put herself in good contention making the turn.

“I really wasn’t expecting anything. I just really was focusing on me today and just seeing how many birdies I could get and climb up the leaderboard,” said Gailey.

And she did just that, as she climbed up five spots on the board with a bogey-free five-under to close out the back nine. Although Gailey was in the lead by one shot by the time she made her way to the 18th green, the Univ. of Nevada, Reno alum had no idea the trophy was waiting for her.

“A win was not really on my radar at all. But it felt amazing to think this is number six on the ANNIKA WAPT and I went from no expectations of making a cut to feeling like this is a dream come true,” said Gailey.

Finishing two back from Gailey was Nannette Hill (Jupiter, FL) who turned in a one-under in the final round to sit at three-under total.

With their top two finishes, Gailey and Hill have once again earned an exemption into an EPSON Tour event, this time being the Garden City Charity Classic at Buffalo Dunes, held June 28-30.
