Independence Bourbon Announces a Partnership and Co-Branding of a Distilled Spirit to Honor the All-Time Winning Golfer Kathy Whitworth

Anne Parton, founder of Independence Bourbon, Bettye Lou Odle, chairman of the Kathy Whitworth Foundation, today announce the co-branding of a bourbon in honor of the winningest professional golfer ever, Kathy Whitworth.

The unique product will debut during the Kathy Whitworth ‘88’ Tournament, July 17-20 at the Trophy Club CC golf course.  Hosted by the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour, the event will see 132 women from around the world – among the best of the LPGA hopefuls— pursuing an opportunity to advance their careers and fulfill Kathy Whitworth’s legacy.

Independence Bourbon – “For Women By Women”—aligns with Kathy’s vision of success for young women golfers, say Parton and Odle.

“Women are redefining both the golf and the bourbon industries with talent and buying power,” says the Kentucky-based CEO. “While we cannot change the past, we are responsibly shaping the future, as Kathy Whitworth did.”

Kathy Whitworth was the greatest winner in all of golf.  Her 88 championships surpassed both Sam Snead and Tiger Woods, who currently have 82 wins each.  Kathy’s stellar career led to a lifelong commitment to champion other young women working to make the leap to the LPGA.

“No one has come close to what Kathy Whitworth achieved: 88 first-place wins, and 95 second-place wins throughout her career,” says Ms. Parton. “Kathy fixed her focus on moving forward, never back.”

Anne Parton’s team will also serve the special Kathy Whitworth bourbon—now called “KW Birdie Juice” --- during the tournament’s Sip-and-Putt event on Wednesday, July 17 at 6 p.m. on the putting green of Trophy Club CC Golf Course. This clinic, open free of charge to all ladies regardless of their level of skill, will be hosted by Independence Bourbon.   The session will be conducted by outstanding ANNIKA WAPT golf professionals who will share putting tips with participants.
